Learning in J06

Junior School J06 Bartlett is sharing the learning taking place in their class…

J06 has made a great start to the beginning of Year 1.  We have enjoyed getting to know each other and getting back into the school routine. 

In Literacy, we have been revising the long 'a' sound - spelt ‘ai’ and ‘ay’ and the long 'e' sound - spelt ‘ee’, ‘ea’ and ‘—y’.  We have been practising reading and spelling lots of words that include these sounds.  A favourite game in J06, to practise our focus sounds, is called ‘read and grab’. 

J06 has enjoyed exploring numbers to 100.  We have been looking at order numbers smallest to largest, identifying numbers, placing numbers along a number line and making a 100s chart.
