Prep 

In Prep we have been very busy with our learning, playing and getting to know all our friends. We have particularly enjoyed PMP where we have developed our gross motor and fine motor skills as well as our hand eye coordination, this program has really helped us with our preparation for Sports day. We are so excited to participate in our first Sports day at St Columba’s. 

Unit of inquiry: 

During our ‘How we express ourselves ‘unit, we have learned all about our creativity, expressing our feelings and our individuality. We loved listening to the story “Only one you” where we learnt all about how we are all unique and special and that is important to enjoy and celebrate our uniqueness and individuality. We created our very own fish rocks, where we got to express our uniqueness through these special rocks. We now have them displayed in the classroom, which reminds us of every day of how we all are special. 

Writing: 

In Writing we are taking risks and having a go at writing new letters and words. We are so proud of the wonderful writing that we have produced, and we can’t wait to celebrate our awesome books with our Year 6 buddies and Ms Maddalena. 

Maths: 

In Maths we have enjoyed learning all about numbers through hands on activities and games. We have been comparing and ordering numbers by using a range of resources and materials to ensure the numbers are in the correct order. Our favourite part is sharing our knowledge and problem-solving skills with our peers during reflection time.
