The Fathering Project - Pizza and Paper Planes

As you will be aware, The Fathering Project is one of the new Wellbeing programs Pilgrim School has launched this year. The Fathering Project uses research to create transformational programs and resources to help fathers, and father figures, be the best dads they can be. They aim to strengthen fathers, and father figures, and the engagement with the children in their lives. With that in mind, I am excited to invite all our fathers and father figures (along with their kids) to our first Dad and Kids event at Pilgrim School.

Event: Pizza and Paper Planes

Date: Friday 23rd June

Time: 5:30pm to 7:30pm (dinner at 6:00pm)

Location: Outside Pilgrim School Oasis building (Campus Gym if raining)

Cost: Free

We will hold competitions for the longest throw, plane decoration, target throws and much more.

Please RSVP with attendance and any dietary requirements by Friday 2nd June (Week 5).

RSVP at https://www.trybooking.com/CIJBI

In the meantime, if any fathers or father figures have not joined the Pilgrim School Dad’s Portal, please scan this QR code.

This portal is for you to access a number of resources, information, videos, and podcasts on ideas to assist you in the fathering journey. As this portal is exclusive to our school community, it is also a place where we can inform you of upcoming Fathering Project Events that we are running at the school.

Input from The Fathering Project: Encouraging a Growth Mindset

We all have beliefs about our own abilities and potential. These beliefs are a part of our mindset which is a powerful tool that shapes our everyday lives. A growth mindset is a belief that abilities can be developed through effort and practice. Children with a growth mindset believe that if they work hard, they can achieve improved results. They have a more positive attitude towards learning, are more willing to face challenges and see failure as a part of the process of learning.

To learn more about growth mindsets and how to support your child in developing one, please look through the resource from The Fathering Project which is linked below.
