Around The Primary

Dear Families

It has been wonderful to see the great work that is being undertaken by our students this term. They are coming to school with a positive attitude and energy, ready to learn, and eagerness to do their personal best.

The staff are very committed to providing engaging and dynamic learning experiences for your children that really draw on extending their skills, knowledge and understanding as learners.

Last week, the Year 5 students spent Thursday night away from home at Kerem Adventure Camp in Bullsbrook. After spending the morning with their families at the beautiful Mass dedicated to mothers, it was all systems go and the students and staff were straight off for their great adventure.

At Kerem, the Year students participated in a high ropes course, scaled a rock-climbing wall, and played laser tag in a newly designed course. The camp brought out the best in the students who showed independence, resilience and problem-solving skills while enjoying the company of their friends and teachers.

Special thanks to Mrs Standing for coordinating this successful camp and to Mrs Fontaine, Mrs Levy, Mr Williams, Mrs Purcell, Mrs Gilmour, Mrs Reading, Miss Driscoll, and Mrs Standing for attending the camp.

The Kindy 2025 interviews are going very well. I have been having some lovely discussions with new families about our great school. I would like to whole-heartedly thank all our current families for their support and kind words in recommending our school to the wider community. It is the community spirit, committed parents, dedicated staff and friendly and enthusiastic students that make our school so special!

Kind regards

Primary Sport

Our Physical Education classes have been enjoying the autumn sunshine!  The Years 3 to 6 classes have been finishing off the soccer unit and will begin the AFL unit next week.    Students are also looking forward to undertaking some fitness testing (mainly the beep test!) and learning about their bodies.

Students in the lower primary have been practising their kicking and dribbling skills as well as building their strength and balance whilst performing gymnastics routines.

Cross-country training begins on Tuesday 30 May and takes place every Tuesday and Thursday morning on the Secondary ovals.  The training is open to all year levels, however Year 2 and below must have an adult running with them, what a great way to start the day with the family!  We will meet outside the St Louis Sports Centre and if it is too wet, training will be in the gymnasium.

If you have any queries about anything sport related, please contact me via email: steve.williams@cewa.edu.au
