Message From Our

Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Congratulations to our Sacramental children who celebrated a very special day with our parish last Sunday when they received the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion. Congratulations also to their families. We welcomed Bishop Shane who confirmed the children and celebrated Mass with Fr John Paul. It was a beautiful and memorable day for all involved. Thank you, Emily Slaughter, who, over the past weeks, has coordinated the Steps in Faith Program with the children and their families, ensuring they were well prepared and ready to receive their Sacraments. Thank you also to Emily and Dom Poppa for preparing the beautiful Mass and the children for the day.  To the wonderful, caring staff at Sacred Heart, thank you for being there on Sunday to help and support our children and share this special day with them. It was greatly appreciated.  We will continue to pray for these children and their families, that they will always remember receiving the Eucharist for the first time and will continue to be guided by the Holy Spirit.

It was lovely to have a visit from GPPS Kinder yesterday. The children enjoyed the bus ride and the opportunity to experience the school leaning space and playground. 2024 enrolments for all classes will close on June 16th.

Last week 1/2 had a wonderful experience at the Melbourne Zoo, 3-6 classes had an Insect and Animal Adaption Incursion and tomorrow the 5/6 have the CSIRO visit for a Plant Incursion. Each of these are enjoyable opportunities to further enrich the learning that takes place within the classroom. Thank you to the staff for planning and organising such valuable experiences and to the many parents  who assist when needed. I hope your children have shared with you what they have been doing and learning about in these extracurricular activities. During the many school outings we have enjoyed over the past few weeks, teachers and myself have received many compliments on the manners, engagement and respectful behavior of your children. Parents, your children are a credit to you and a pleasure to take out! Well done everyone on being your best each day.

We are quickly moving through Term 2 and teachers are currently completing assessment for Semester 1 reports which will be available on Simon Everywhere on June 19th. Throughout the semester you will have already been able to access samples of your child’s work to support these reports. These are available through the Learning Tasks Tab on Student Profile.

Each year at this time we show our wonderful generosity of spirit and conduct our annual Winter Appeal. We will be collecting much needed items that will be donated to St Vinnies and distributed to those in our local community in need. Your children will have further information and we ask that you please add a few extra items in your shopping trolley for our collection.

May the Sacred Heart of Jesus continue to watch over our school community and bless us always.
