LGBTQIA+ Pledge

This week many of our students gathered in the school courtyard to make a pledge to be a good friend and ally against homophobic bullying and discrimination. The pledge was made in recognition of IDAHOBIT Day – the International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination.

Members and friends of the GSSC Pride Club also headed down to the Queens Gardens during lunchtime to enjoy an event hosted by Greater Shepparton City Council. This included a range of activities, live music, a flag raising and free food!

Greater Shepparton Secondary College recognises that across the world there is still a long way to go to increase acceptance and reduce discrimination, not just for our LGBTQIA+ community but in many facets of society. Our value of respect, to show care for ourselves and others and value difference, is expected of all students and staff.
