Cluster Schools Day

Our Year Five and Six students participated in the first Cluster Schools Day of the year. This was a great opportunity to mix with students from the two other schools in our cluster; St. Joan of Arc Brighton and St. Finbars Brighton. The students engage in games that fostered teamwork, school spirit, and friendships, and was an opportunity to get to know students that will likely be attending similar secondary schools in 2024 or 2025. I had some terrific reports of how our students demonstrated inclusiveness and an outgoing attitude mixing extremely positively with students from the other schools. A real example of our students putting our RICH Values into action!

Yesterday, all of the Year 5 and Year 6 students united with St Joan of Arc and St Finbars. All of the students participated in three activities, which were based around wellbeing and meeting students from other schools. Everybody collaborated on the various tasks and made new friends. Overall, everybody had a great day and we can’t wait to see each other again next semester and in high school.

Today, the Year 6 girls stayed at St Mary’s and welcomed the St Joan of Arc and St Finbar's students. Everyone was so excited to meet other people and see various other students again. There were three different activities, and the first one I went to was the wellbeing with Mrs. Sullivan. We had to draw characters based on our life and appearance. I had zig-zag hair and purple eyebrows. Then, after, we put all of the drawings on the ground and tried to define who is who! It was very entertaining, and a great way to get to know each other. After that, my group moved to the next location, where we played European Handball, with Mrs K. The groups split into half and had to versus the others. That was a marvellous lesson. At the end of the day, at the last task, my group had to work together on copious amounts of activities. We had to strategies and share the work. In conclusion, Cluster Day was an exceptional experience and I hope to see them again next year.

For Cluster Day today we went to St. Joan of Arc and we spoke to people about high school. Today I met someone called Hamish. His nickname is "Hammer" and he is so nice. We are both going St. Bedes. He is really funny. So that was cluster day for me.

For Cluster Day, we visited  St Joan of Arc, where we got together and talked about what high school we were going to, and what we have in common. We were also joined by St Finbar's. I met a lot of funny and cool people from both schools (mainly St Joan of Arc) but no one from who is going to Sandringham Secondary College. We were split into three even groups among all three schools and rotated around three different activities. For the first activity we wrote on a piece of paper what we had in common and made it into a flag. For the second activity, we played European handball which is similar to regular handball but with a few tweaks. Finally, we did some teambuilding activities like playing card towers and seeing how many taps of a balloon we could get in 2 minutes. Thank you for reading, Felix A out.
