Year 11 — Geography Field Assessment

Tuesday, 9th May, saw our Year 11 Geography students travel to Marysville, Victoria to complete a field-work assessment around the impact of the devastating bushfires that hit the area and it's lasting impression on the landscape and the community.

"To what extent has the regional town of Marysville reduced the risk of damage from bushfires?"

Students began to answer this question by visiting multiple locations around the town and conducting visual assessments of the land to compile their reports.

Unfortunately the weather wasn't great, but at least there weren't any chance of bushfires!

Alex Woodward Visit

Recently we welcomed College Alumni, Alex Woodward (Class of 2011), as he spoke to our Senior ACC Football team going into their upcoming season. He shared words on his days playing at Hawthorn (AFL) & Collingwood (VFL) and his journey persevering through an astonishing five knee reconstructions.

The Players’ Player award for Mazenod Senior Football will be named after Alex, to be awarded to the player to best typify his courage, attitude and effort.
