Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

District Cross Country

Congratulations to our eight Year 3-6 students for competing in the District Athletics. The competition took place yesterday at Mirabooka Reserve in Blackburn, where the children competed against a wider pool of students from primary schools in the eastern region.

Our students put in their best efforts and are to be commended on their achievements. Congratulations to Ruby, Alex, Archer, Matthew, Cristiano, Luca, Miete and Makayla.

Family Faith Nights

Over the past two Tuesday evenings we hosted Family Faith Nights for our Prep, Year 1 and Year 2 students and their families. These evenings were well attended by families and a great opportunity to have the school and parents working together to support the children in their faith development.

Eucharist Reflection Day

Next Tuesday 6th June our Year 4 students will be heading offsite for a Eucharist Reflection Day. This day is an important component of the Eucharist program for these children and we are sure they will find it most valuable.

Congratulations to Mikayla 5/6I

Last year Mikayla competed in the National Australian Clubs Gymnastics Competition and placed All Around 2nd Nationally.  From this Mikayla was invited to participate in the Singapore Open 2023 which took place earlier this week.

Mikayla competed in the Rhythmic Gymnastics section for 11-12 year olds, using the Hoop, Ball and Clubs

Mikayla placed 20th out of over 50 participants from approximately 9 countries around Oceania.

CONGRATULIONS Makayla!

School Disco

The School Disco is on again!!

The school disco is for students of our school and will be held on FRIDAY 16th JUNE. There will be two sessions:

  • Prep – Year 2  5.00pm – 6.15pm
  • Year 3 – 6       6.30pm -8pm

The cost is $5 per child. There will be a selection of glow accessories to purchase on the night and also from the foyer (before and after school) in the week of the disco. We need some parents to assist on the night.  If you are able to help, please indicate on the payment slip.  All parent helpers are required to have a Working With Children Check.

Winter Illnesses

As  we enter into winter we are finding that we have a number of children absent from school due to viruses, colds and Covid.  We do appreciate it if parents can keep their child at home when they are unwell as this will help reduce the spread of any virus within the community.

2024 Enrolments

Enrolments for Prep 2024 are now being accepted. We would ask that if you have a child commencing Prep next year that you collect and return an enrolment form at your earliest convenience. Similarly, if you have neighbours or friends looking to enrol their child at COHR next year we would ask you to encourage them to submit their enrolment or give us a call and come in for a tour. Thank you.

I am looking forward to see our Prep students have their first experience with the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program tomorrow. Thanks to those parents who have volunteered to help with the program. We couldn't run it without you.

Take care everyone

Brendan Welsford
