Using the text ‘Windows’ by Patrick Guest, students from Prep-2 had to explore the senses they use and the properties of different materials.   We created a Makerspace trolley with a range of materials to use for this project. 

Students in Prep finished creating a sensory window in collaboration with their buddies, whilst students in JLA created miniature windows using icy pole sticks and fabric.

Noah (JLA 3) It was tricky to make something that small.

Zoi (JLA3) We got use mini things that were very colourful. 

This term, students are using the scripture story of 'The Parable of the Sower' that connects with their inquiry unit on Change and Transformation which is being retold using digital technologies.  Students are working in small groups to create different characters and scenes to understand that Jesus told this story so that we can grow and understand God.  We used immersion bins to tell the story filled with soil, seeds, weeds and rocks.  We made connections that when we make good choices, we grow in our minds and hearts but if we make poor choices, we don't grow into our full potential.
