STAGE 2 NEWS
Stage 2 has had a fantastic start to the term so far!
Whilst settling into our routines, we have been busy starting new units of work across key learning areas and also busy participating in sporting activities.
In Science, we have started our new unit called “Friends or Foes?”, which demonstrates the links between living things, their life-cycles, our ecosystems and the survival of humankind. So far in this unit, students have explored the different parts of a flower and a bee. Last week in Science, we learnt about the role of a bee in the pollination cycle. We made our very own flowers, using pipe cleaners and powdered paint to demonstrate the pollen on the anthers and stigma of our flowers, and also made a bee. We then watched as one student from each group, flew their bee from one flower to the other, and observed how the pollen (powered paint), spread.
In other key learning areas, students have continued to practice their dance routine in preparation for their ACOS performance in August. Alongside dance, we have just begun our new unit “Figures in Movement” in visual arts. This unit relates specifically to how movement is portrayed in artworks. Stage 2 students will use their choreography from their dance routine, to influence the way they position their figure to demonstrate a series of movements.

TEACHERS SHINING
This year our staff are celebrating the successes of our teachers each week. In our staff room we have a "SHINE box" where teachers and other staff acknowledge each other and the contributions we are making at our amazing school. Below are the names that were drawn out from the box last week.
