Latrobe Youth Council

Hello lovely Latrobe Youth Networkers, 

I’m writing with the fabulous news that we are officially accepting applications for the 2022 Latrobe City Youth Council!  

That means 14-18 year olds have the opportunity to represent their peers and take action on issues facing them, all while building leadership and advocacy skills, and engaging with the community through events and projects.  

We are seeking up to 20 Youth Councillors from across Latrobe City with a range of life experiences, abilities, backgrounds and identities. 

There is no previous experience required, we just ask young people to submit an expression of interest, provide a personal reference, and have a chat with us about who they are and what they are interested in before joining the crew!  

I’ve attached two posters which can be printed and displayed or emailed as flyers to help spread the word to your community. If you need physical posters dropped to you, just let me know.  

Soon you will also see social media posts about this on the Latrobe City Facebook and Instagram – sharing these or tagging young people who might be interested would be greatly appreciated.  

Applications will be open from November 2021 to mid-February 2022, with the Youth Council program commencing in March 2022.
