Principal's Report

Principal's Report

Dear Parents,

This is our 8th week of Learning From Home. I want to congratulate parents students and teachers for making a success of learning online. We have many more weeks of this school operation, and I am confident that students will maintain their continuity of learning at home.

The NSW Premier announced that the Department of Education has developed a plan to bring students back to school in a COVID-safe way while stay at home orders are still in place - ensuring continuity of education, and protecting student, teacher and community safety.

A staggered return of students to face-to-face learning will begin on Monday 25 October. Students will return to face-to-face learning with NSW Health approved COVID safe settings on school sites in the following order:

From 25 October - Kindergarten and Year 1

From 1 November - Year 2, 6 and 11

From 8 November - Year 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 and 10

We will provide additional updates and details of how this impacts on our school as the situation evolves.

Level 3 school operation will be in place when students return to face to face teacher. This will restrict access to school grounds. Only school staff and students will be allowed on site.  Organisation for drop off and pick up will be as follows.

9.00am students arrive at school. Parents drop off student at school gates.

Afternoon dismissal;

3.00pm Kindergarten and Year 1

2.45pm Year 2 and Year 6

2.30pm Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5

As students return to school their drop off times will continue for the remainder of term 4. Parents will not be allowed on school grounds to drop off or pick up students. Students will be supervised to meet parents at Gilba Road and Bando Road. Parents will remain outside the school gates.

All school staff will be require full vaccination before they return to work with students face to face.  Staff will be required to wear masks at all times in classrooms and on the playground.

Students will be encouraged to wear masks while at school.

These organisational procedures are required to ensure  COVID safe management of the school site.

Next week we recognise the school administrative staff, school Learning Support officers and General Assistants.  Teachers and school executive rely on the excellent work our SASS staff provide in all aspects of school operation.  SASS staff are and essential part of our school.

Stay strong, stay well.
