Principal's Message-

Amadeo Ferra

Not many of us could have predicted that in Term 3 to date that we would only have had a total of 10 days onsite for face-face classes. What has been evident as we have moved in and out of six remote periods over the past year and bit is that, we as a learning community, are agile and flexible and do our best to adapt to the circumstances. I thank all teachers and support staff for being able to adapt so quickly to the remote period and doing their best to engage students in their learning and continue to create a sense of routine with live lessons for each period of the day.

Thank you also to the parents and carers who continue to do their best in motivating and prompting their child to attend classes and engage with the learning. The Department of Education provide some good support resources and information on learning from home and I encourage you to visit this website for further support. I want to also thank the parents/carers that attended the recent student progress meetings held on the 18th August. These meetings provide an important link in our partnership as a school and home to best support the young people were are both invested in.

I would like to reiterate the message from our Prime Minister, the Premier and the Chief Health Officer and encourage all members of the school community eligible to be vaccinated to do so. We are currently working with the Peninsula Vaccination Centre on a plan to offer vaccinations onsite. In the meantime check your availability and if you can get vaccinated, do so. The sooner we can get this under control, the sooner we can get back to a greater sense of certainty in society.

We hope as a school that we can welcome you back towards the end of term and will continue to communicate updates through Compass.
