BE INVOLVED, BE CONNECTED

Wally is hiding in our 5km bubble and he's waiting for you to find him!

As you go for your daily walk with your family, parents and carers be sure to keep a lookout for Wally.

With your parent’s permission take a photo of you with Wally. Towards the end of term, we may request your photo and publish it.

The clues are below.

1. South Melbourne Park Primary School. I'm hanging around on the building.

2. Fort Park.    Up, up, up.

3. South Melbourne Surf Life Saving Club. I can see the ships passing by.

4. St Vincent Gardens. I can see the pansies but something smells yucky!

5. Albert Park Lake. Every fair ground has one of these, and this one has water views.

6. See Yup Temple. These purple flowers are lovely.

7. Lakeside Stadium. I'm peeking out from behind a sign.

8. Shrine of Remembrance. From this bush I can see the shrine and the flame.

9. Botanical Gardens: Just past the cactus I'm resting in the wooden circle.

10 Gas Works Art Park. You'll need to sit down to find me.

Thank you to Nicole our School Council President, who assisted me with this family fun activity.

STAFF APPRECIATION

This week has been Teacher Aide Appreciation Week.

We are fortunate to have a team of dedicated Education Learning support staff who work diligently to ensure our students receive the support they need. These staff members are Justin Sweeney, Ahlam Elakkoumi, Clodagh Dillon, Giulia Bruno, Nicole Johnson and Roy Lee.

The ES learning support staff have received messages of gratitude and appreciation from teachers, goodies and treats throughout the week and hand made cards from students onsite.

Please join us in acknowledging their work.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT

At South Melbourne Park PS we are fortunate to have the support of the local community, community groups and businesses. At the start of the term, Jason de Reuck kindly donated 150 x 250 ml bottles of hand sanitiser to SMPPS. We appreciate this very kind donation and have put it to good use at our school.

If you would like to reciprocate, feel free to visit the Elyptol website.

R U OK? Day (Thursday 9 September 2021) is the biggest, best and brightest day of the year. Why? Because it's an opportunity for family, friends and workmates to connect, start a conversation and make a promise to be there for each other more often.

Here is a video with a very important message.

Wishing you a wonderful spring weekend, spotting all the blossoms and birds.
