Alumni Program Update

As part of the Year 12’s Learning Mentor session, we recently had Rachael Brown, the Career Coach and Talent Manager at Inspire HQ in Ballarat, present an online session about Linkedin. Rachael, a former Ballarat High School student was happy to give back to her school and offer some advice.

We organised this for our students because a Linkedin profile can be beneficial for a number of reasons, the main one being that it’s similar to an online resume and allows employers to find candidates easily, the other is that it allows Ballarat High School to follow the student’s journey after leaving school.

In 2021 BHS launched an alumni program, aimed at reconnecting with former students to motivate and inspire our current students. Adding Ballarat High School to the education section on Linkedin means that students are automatically listed as alumni of our school and we can search by year graduated, or the field of study/work. This allows us to reach out to guest speakers, mentors, etc. in years to come, as we have done with Rachael from Inspire HQ.
