Meet Monique & Daniel

Daniel Paladino

Meet Daniel, one of our fabulous aides, who is known across many classes for his sense of humour, musical skills and tech know-how. He's a talented guitarist and a skilled skateboarder.

What type of music are you into?

I listen to all types of music, from rock to hip hop to pop though I did grow up listening to heavy metal. 

What was the last TV show you binge-watched?

I am currently binge watching a show called One Piece. It is an anime series about pirates setting sail on the seas!

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?

If I had to choose only one food I would have to choose my mum's lasagna, it’s just perfectly delicious. 

Do you have a favourite holiday? Why or why not?

My favourite holiday is Christmas! I love giving presents and being together with family and friends. 

Would you say you’re more of an extrovert or an introvert?

I’d say I’m more of an extrovert, I enjoy going out and meeting people and making new friends!

Monique Crow

Meet Monique, a Year 6 teacher, who loves chocolate and travel. She's skilled with her hands – having converted a campervan and is now in the process of reupholstering chairs!

What was your favourite age growing up?

So far my favourite age has been 22. As part of my teaching degree, I did a university exchange program at Leeds University in England for a year. I loved the freedom of being somewhere new and different. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the winter too!

Do you have a pet?

Yes! Would I call her a pet or another human… I don’t know? Peppi is a Labradoodle. We got her as a puppy earlier this year and she is now six months old.

What are your hobbies, and how did you get into them?

I love to sew and make many of my own clothes! I am doing an upholstery course at the moment and am in the process of re-covering an armchair. I like to learn new things that have nothing to do with my job. 

What's a favourite way that you like to travel?

I like camping a lot – both the along the coast and into the bush. 

My partner and I converted a regular van into a camper van, so we can go away whenever we want. The van is always packed, so we can spontaneously hit the road on a Friday after work. The inspiration to convert the van came from a love of  tinkering, making and building.

Do you have a favourite holiday destination?

My partner is from Italy, so we love to go and explore the little villages in the north of the country around the area his family is from. The mountains and food are gorgeous! We've been three times now and are looking forward to when we can go again.

Favourite food?

I love chocolate – it doesn't matter what type. I could eat it every day!
