David's Message

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have all made it to the end of another term. I'm not going to lie, I know how tough this time has been for many of our families, our students, our teachers and the community as a whole. We have had some major accomplishments too; we celebrated book week, shared our amazing talents in the talent show, created a Spanish Fiesta flash mob and even made it through the school review! I know at this stage we are not sure what next term will bring, but I do know that our teachers are planning something a little bit different for week 1 to ensure we are all re-engaged with school and ready to have fun again.

There have been some momentous moments in my house as well. Maia is getting ready to begin her primary school next year and turned 5. Teo has started crawling in the past few and a half, going from the "knee wobble" to tracking across the tiles incredibly quickly. It took us by shock a bit that we had to baby proof and get the stair gates back out again. I also got to Skype and say hello to my new niece, born in the UK a few days ago. Each of these big family events that we are separated from family feels hard but I know it will make the hugs when we do meet up in the future even bigger and more squishy!

We are awaiting information from the department about the beginning of next term, which students will be able to access school and what the road map out of lockdown looks like. We will keep you all informed as soon as we are aware of what this means for our school community, so look out for a communication via Xuno in the final week of the school holidays.

In the meantime, please stay safe, keep practising social distancing whilst staying socially connected, and we look forward to seeing you all next term.
