Book Week 2021

This week across Australia the 75th Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Awards has been bringing children and books together to celebrate Australian children’s authors and illustrators. We’d like to congratulate this year’s Winners and all the authors and illustrators whose books were shortlisted.

You can explore the shortlisted books here https://cbca.org.au/shortlist-2021

During this week, schools and libraries have been spending one glorious week celebrating books around this year’s theme Old Worlds, New Worlds, Other Worlds, reminding us that all good stories transport us into the past, the present, and to places which stretch the imagination. As a school, we will be joining in the celebration of Book Week in the second last week of term Sept 6th -10th to share our enthusiasm for reading and literature.

This year, the amazing Book Week artwork of Shaun Tan inspired us to team up with Jess and Sukie from https://www.jessicagerger.com/stageplay (with a little help from John the builder) to produce our own amazing displays for the library showing the symbol of movement between old, new and other worlds.

Here’s a sneak peek of the fun…
