Concepts of Health and Physical Education
Year 10 students in Concepts of Health and Physical Education were lucky enough to be joined by two-time Olympian, Rhydian Cowley during remote learning. Rhydian discussed his preparation for the Tokyo Olympics, including training at the VIS, how he become involved in sport and shared his tips for staying well and motivated during lockdown.
Looking after his mental health was a priority. He made time to talk to family and friends, kept a journal and connected with the environment. Rhydian also took steps to control his non-essential screen time and got fresh air and exercise daily. Positive self-talk and goal setting helped a lot with motivation.
Students had good questions for Rhydian and enjoyed the experience.
