Covid Communication

We appreciate the patience and understanding that we have received from all families over the weekend, understandably there has been a lot of changes and communication has only just come through. Please make yourself familiar with the information we have posted onto Seesaw as to the criteria around onsite access to Kinder for supervision.

We will be communicating the next steps around Remote Learning and other details as we process what these changes mean to our service, families and children.

We had a great session with our Wimbi children last week, with a tremendous amount of focus and concentration occurring throughout all areas of the program. The children have resonated with the increase in challenges and language based learning that we have been implementing and this has allowed the Teacher's to extend conceptual awareness and engage in deeper and more challenging discussions.

Last week we began unpacking the concept of celebrations, looking back at the birthdays and Mother's day to inform how we recognise the significant other's in our lives. From this we started our Father's day activities, something the children are excited about sharing very soon!

It's hard to convey everything that the Marram group have done last week as there have been so many amazing learning moments and connections that have taken place! Group experiences like drama's, dancing, music, adventures into the rain and sunshine, gratitude/mindfulness and even a short 'disco' have provided opportunities for learning as well as providing so many beautiful moments to support well being, identity and a sense of belonging for all.

We had moments of intentional teaching, using the bee-bots to scaffold planning and spatial skills, cars and large planks to teach science, hama beads have been utilised to extend planning and design skills and our father's day activities have solidified fine motor and creativity skills.

It's truly wonderful to see the class in such a beautiful place of curiosity, focus and co-operation and we are excited for another week of learning and connection ahead!

We had a wonderful week with many adventures. We put a BBQ together to go with our camping area. This inspired us to get out the junior tool kit, which enabled us to look at other ‘joinery connections’, which in turn spurred us to use other manipulative construction sets. This has further extended our problem solving skills and language to communicate thinking and explain mathematical ideas.

We have enjoyed a wonderful drama experience with Cristina. She read the book ‘The enormous potato’, immersing the children in character and they acted out the scenes. Drama supports developing language and communication, social interactions, confidence, feeling empowered as well as imagination and creativity.

Gawarn group had a visit from Anna’s rabbit – 'Toffee'. They were so patient whilst waiting for their turn, were super gentle and there were some great descriptive words to express what the fur felt like.

We have been sorting out the letter and number magnets, as the children have been expressing a great interest in these, and making up some humours words. We have also loved our adventures up in the school garden and we hope you all are able to take in some great walks, bike or scooter rides this week.
