Feature News: Indonesian

Selamat siang!

I will never be able to express how much I appreciate our school community's creativity and efforts during this remote learning period! Wow - how amazing are our students?

In the last few weeks, Foundation have begun learning some names of animals in Indonesian. The 1/2s are also learning about animals, and have recently learnt how to say some native animals from Indonesia - in Indonesian! This week, we have an EXPLOSION of kreativitas! Explore the photos of just some of the brilliant crafts by our Juniors this week!

3/4 students have begun exploring the different islands of Indonesia. Lots of people know about Bali already, but have you heard of Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan? Did you know there are 58 million people on the island of Sumatra alone?! Or that Kalimantan (Borneo) and Sumatra are the only places orangutans live in the wild? Did you know there's an animal called a binturong which smells like popcorn?! All these and more were the results of our 3/4 "Notice and Wonder" activity! Finally, 5/6 students began planning and researching for a legacy gift to leave behind for our junior students - all about celebrations of Indonesia!

Hopefully we can all get out and have some sunshine in the next few days!
