Book Week

Friday 13th August—Book Celebration Day- Dress Up

Book Celebration Day is to celebrate Children’s literature and the important role books play in children’s lives.  Children and staff dress up as their favourite book characters and participate in activities based on books for the day. When organising your costume please think about the weather and wear appropriate clothing, or bring something more comfortable to change into after the parade.

Current COVID restrictions means that at this time, parents would be unable to attend the parade. In the event that this does not change next week, videos will be taken and shared with families.

We will also be having a book fair next week.  This is where the Book Club comes to Mt Beauty and students can browse and purchase books at the school shop. The Book Fair is the fundraiser for the library to help to purchase new books for the students.  It would be helpful if families could start discussing expectations for student 'budgets' for the bookshop.  At the moment, due to COVID restrictions, it is unlikely that parents/carers will be able to visit the book store and we will provide more information next week, regarding available books, etc.
