Mr Butts' Announcements

Mary MacKillop

Last week we celebrated the feast of Mother Mary MacKillop, Australia's first saint.  Her favourite saying was "Never see a need without doing something about it", which led her to being the founder of the Sister's of St Joseph who opened hundreds of schools for the poor in Australia and other countries.  Most of these schools, such as St Joseph's Nagambie (the first Josephite school in Victoria) are still operating today - after more than 100 years.  Mary MacKillop is both an important figure in the Catholic Church, but also played a significant role in the history of our nation.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank our hard working teachers for their resilience and flexibility over the last two weeks.  With no warning, they were required to plan for remote learning, and within days the decision was reversed to resume back at school.  As much as we were all relieved to be back, I would like to acknowledge the challenges this poses to our staff. St Mary's is very lucky to have such wonderful teachers.

Week 6 Ella Gent

Ella took on our latest lockdown in a very resilient fashion and worked hard to complete all her work!  She is  a quiet achiever in the classroom and is a delight to teach. Mr Butts' Jokes!

Q: How do you make the number 1 disappear?

A: Just add a "G" and it's GONE!!

I went to the video shop and asked if I could borrow Batman Forever. They said no, but I could have it for a couple of nights! (parents might have to explain what a video shop is to the kids!)

Take Care Everyone.
