Faith Matters

                         At St Francis Xavier School

Dear St Francis Xavier Families,

In my last Newsletter I mentioned we were approaching the Feast of the Assumption of Mary. In the lead up to that celebration and during the week following we continued to acknowledge and honour Mary during our morning prayer sessions with the children. We even explored her depiction in historical and modern art works.  I was delighted when Miss Bridget shared the above picture with me, of Dwayne, one of our wonderful Prep students, whose family celebrated the Assumption Feast Day in such a special manner.  I am fortunate to often spend time with the Preps and always depart with a smile.  Their appreciation and sincerity is truly a teaching reward.  During Religious Inquiry experiences I am frequently in awe of their articulate and honest explanations and expressions of faith.

Families of our Year 4, 5 and 6 Communion Candidates, I feel the need to mention you as you are genuinely often in my thoughts.  Your patience and understanding about our long awaited First Communion is appreciated more than words can say.  Please know that Fr Chinua, Steve and I are determined to do all that we can to ensure this celebration occurs before 2021 comes to a close.

Blessings to you all.
