Around The Primary
Dear Parents
It was lovely to see some parents and grandparents joining us at Mass this morning. Special thanks to Ms O’Connor and the Year 5G students for preparing the readings and prayers and to Fr Rodrigo for his spiritual guidance.
Even though it has been so cold, many students have braved the elements and participated in Cross-Country training on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. A big thank you to Mr Williams for training the students and to all the students for their dedication to coming to training each week. Special thanks to the staff and parents who have assisted with these fun and energetic training sessions.
We recognise that whilst email is a wonderful way to communicate, it is not always the most effective. The best way to have a discussion is to meet face to face or via a phone conversation. Teachers can be emailed to book a mutually convenient meeting time. When contacting teachers via email, please keep the emails brief. Teachers are in class during the day and also do a playground duty each day so please do not expect an immediate response. If it is an urgent matter please phone the school office.
It has been great to see parents wearing their badges around the College – thank you! Just a reminder, all parents and visitors also need to ‘sign-in’ using the iPads located in the front office or in the Early Companions Centre when volunteering around the College.
Kind regards,
Antoinette De Pinto

Mini beasts Mania
On Wednesday Year One students came up close with some spineless wonders. They were able to hold and observe some magnificent mini beasts. The students were so amazed by them and there was lots of giggling and gasps as they gently touched them. Our parent helpers were brave too and encouraged the students to have closer look even if it was a little scary at times.
Marvellous Mathematicians
Last term some Year 5 and 6 students took part in a Problem-Solving Mathematics competition that runs Australia wide. The students were faced with tricky real-world problems which challenged their mathematical knowledge and understanding. The students have received their certificates from their class teachers this week. Congratulations to all our marvellous mathematicians!

Can you help?
The Catholic LifeLink Agency, ‘The Shop Front’ provides meals for those in need who call in and has shower facilities for those who are homeless.
We are collecting travel size shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, as well as, tooth brushes, toothpaste and combs/brushes. Many of these items are often provided by hotels and are a suitable size for distribution by the volunteers at The Shop Front. Donations can be placed in the basket in the front office.
As The Shop Front is a special place of hospitality and sharing they would also greatly appreciate any donations of blankets or sleeping bags (new or pre-loved).
