Sacrament of Confirmation

On Saturday evening a number of our Year 6 students were Confirmed at Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Sacrament of Confirmation celebrates the completion of initiation into the Catholic Church which begins with Baptism. Confirmation empowers candidates with the Holy Spirit to set out on a life of Christian discipleship and witness.

It was wonderful to witness the Year 6 students repeat the promises that were made on their behalf during Baptism.  It was also wonderful to see them being presented to the Bishop with their new Confirmation name, a name they have chosen based on a Saint that inspires them.  The Bishop sealed them with the Holy Spirit and presented them to the community as Confirmed Catholics.

Students who are part of the Ss. Peter and Paul community will be Confirmed on Sunday 3rd December. We wish these students all the best as they prepare for this special Sacrament.

Galilee Day

On Friday 24th November, we will be celebrating Galilee's 24th birthday. The Year 4 students will lead us in a Whole School Foundation Mass that will take place on the basketball court at 9.30am. Each year level will participate in a disco in the hall and there will be a special lunch available to all students.

A special lunch has been organised for students on the day. This lunch will be free of charge. It will include a choice of a hot dog, hamburger with cheese or wrap with chicken & salad as well as a choice of a chocolate brownie or popcorn. It will also include a choice of juice or water.  A caremonkey form has been sent out to all students asking you to select your preferences for lunch. A copy of the caremonkey form is available for all students who are not on caremonkey from classroom teachers. The caremonkey form needs to be completed by Friday 17th November for catering purposes. Students who do not want to eat the lunch that has been organised and students who did not complete the caremonkey form in time will need to bring their own lunch on the day.  *Please note that 3R will be on camp on the 24th of November and will not participate in Galilee Day or the lunch.

Thank you to the Lisa and the parents who have offered to assist with lunch on the day. If you are able to help with lunch on the day please email Brittany Ford: bford@sgmelbournesth.catholic.edu.au.
