MICROBITS
The ICT Department have been very fortunate to receive a number of Microbit devices. These are small, programmable circuit board computers, which are designed to get students into coding. The Microbits can be programmed easily to perform simple tasks using a Scratch-like interface or from Python.
We hope to give all Year 7 classes an opportunity to code with the Microbit and to get the Year 9 Coding group working with these later this term.
CODE CLUB
Code Club runs on a Monday lunchtime in A4 and students will have the opportunity to experiment with the Microbits here too.
Many thanks to parent Troy Waller with his help in this initiative.

NATIONAL COMPUTER SCIENCE SCHOOL
The 2017 NCSS challenge started on Monday 31 July with 28 students across years 7-11 taking part. It was great to see that by Thursday, all the students had started the challenges for the week with some students finishing them within the first 12 hours! Congratulations to Millie Graham, Persephone Gardiner, Karleen Han and Evan Wang for finishing all challenges on the first day!
