“You have plenty of courage, I am sure,” answered Oz. “All you need is confidence in yourself. There is no living thing that is not afraid when it faces danger. The true courage is in facing danger when you are afraid, and that kind of courage you have in plenty.”

FRANK BAUM: “THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ”.

Dear BPS parents & friends,

Done some kondo during iso? Please read on…

If you’ve had the urge to ‘kondo’ your bookshelves (shed/kitchen cupboards/etc.) during home isolation, and you’ve been rationalising and preparing to do a ‘throw-out’, please don’t drop off your books at the opp shop (when they re-open)!

Why? BPS needs books for the classroom (and possibly a PFC second-hand book stall).

The school is in the process of planning how to improve the classroom libraries and we will find out from our school leaders, in the coming weeks, how and when we will be able to donate junior fiction and non-fiction books to the school.

Stay tuned for more information about donation guidelines and logistics and please keep the books nice and dry until then.

BTW, we understand how difficult it is to throw out books. Keep your favourites, by all means, and please be assured that your pre-loved stories will spark joy for children again and again and again…

Best, Danielle Johnston on behalf of the PFC committee.
