We wanted to share Tahlia R’s holiday idea. Tahlia really enjoys sewing and has made hair scrunchies for all her friends in the past.
She wanted to do something else so she came up with an idea to make face masks. She trialled 5 different styles and used her family to try them on making sure they cover all the correct parts of the face. Once she had come up with the pattern, she went on to make 40 masks. She made an advertisement. In 2 days she had sold them all to people in the local community. She is donating all the money to COVID research at Monash. Tahlia has managed the whole process by herself including delivering the masks to letter boxes on her bike and asking that the money be left in a bag for her to collect. Tahlia hasn't sort the limelight over her amazing effort but we wanted to let Tahlia know that her family and our school are so proud of her. Due to very high demand Tahlia is no longer accepting orders.

Standing Long Jump Competition
Students in years 3-6 are working on Athletics - this week. We are working on standing long jump.
The rules:
- Stand at the start line you have made - your feet need to be apart (shoulder width apart)
- Hold your socks in your hand
- Bend your knees, lean your trunk forward and put both arms behind your body.
- Push off your feet, swing arms forward and jump over the start line as far as you can.
- Land with two feet on the ground, bending your knees when you land and keeping your hands out for balance. If you start to fall try and fall forward.
- Place your socks behind your feet to measure your jump. If you fall backwards you need to take the measurement from the hand closest the start line. Any measurement taken for long jump needs to be from the closest mark to the start line e.g. the back of your foot
- Measure your jump, record your measurement and try again.
All jump jumps must be from a standing start - no run ups allowed - click here for video link .
