Reminders to help keep us safe

We continue to follow our procedures at the college to help keep us safe.  We remind families to be aware of the following:

The Victorian Chief Health Officer, Prof Brett Sutton, states “Perhaps the most important action school communities can take to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 is to ensure that any unwell staff, children and young people remain at home.”

  • For this reason all unwell students must stay home.  In these situations parents/ guardians should arrange testing for COVID-19 and students should stay home until the test result is known. Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) can be contacted on 5857 0212.  See information in the Community News section of today's newsletter regarding drive through testing now available through KDHS.
  • If parents/guardians become aware they (and or their children) have been in contact with someone who has had COVID-19, you should contact the College as soon as possible to discuss this.
  • Although travel to Metropolitan Melbourne and the Mitchell Shire is possible, it should only be for medical care and caregiving,  study or work.

Please stay safe by minimising risks to yourself, your family and the community.

How coronavirus impacts young people

The following infographic gives us some idea of how coronavirus is impacting our young people

Our tool which we developed during Remote Learning, has some valuable tips and advice for our students.

When you recognise any of the above signs, remind your children to refer to the tool or speak to your community wellbeing leader for support and advice. Please find the link to our tool: http://tiny.cc/wellbeingduringcovid19

Take care everyone and stay safe!

Sock It To The Can Appeal

This week, our 2020 Sock It To The Can appeal started. The appeal is especially important this year, due to the increased demand on The St Vincent de Paul Society across Australia caused by the loss of jobs as a result of COVID-19.

Each TA classroom has been provided with a blue Vinnies bag for students to place their donations in.  If every student in the school donated one item it would make a huge difference to local people in need in the Kyabram district.

Donations can be in the form of socks, cans of food/fruit or non perishable food in sealed packages. The items must be within use by dates.

The appeal will run for three weeks and donations can be made up until the 6th August.
