School Council Update

Acknowledging teachers and staff

School council would like to begin by acknowledging the great work of all of the teachers and staff at NPS.

For all of us, navigating all that COVID has thrown at us has been trying, unsettling and just down right challenging. We acknowledge that not only have our teachers and staff made our children safe and ensured that they continue to learn and grow, but they have also cared for their own families and dealt with the juggle in their own home-lives.

We thank you and value you!

2020 Final Fete Figures

We are pleased to report that the Final Fete Figures are now confirmed.

This year we made $50,427.32!!

This will go a long way to supporting the priority activity School Council have identified, including:

  • Outside toilet upgrades – due to commence shortly
  • Hall Audio Visual System – that we can all enjoy when we finally get back on site
  • Interactive Whiteboards across all classrooms
  • Air conditioning across all teaching areas, pending confirmation of power capacity
  • Adventure Playground upgrades across both exiting areas, noting we currently also applying for a grant to support this activity, and
  • Shade over the basketball courts, noting we are also applying for a grant to support this activity

100 Days of Preps

Thursday marked the 100th day for our Prep students and while School Council have no doubt that this was not the experience we wanted for our newest students, we know that they have been well supported by their families/ carers and their teachers.

Congratulations preps and parents/carers on getting this far!

Principals Day

This Friday, the 7th of August is Principal’s Day on behalf of School Council and our school community more broadly please join me in acknowledging the wonderful work of both Kerrie and Ross (as Assistant Principal) in 2020.

This year has certainly thrown many challenges at them both and their ongoing work ethic and commitment to the school has shone throughout.

Finally, thank you to our families and carers as you continue to work with the school to ensure we get through this together.

Stay well and take care!
