Dear Parents/Guardians

As we enter a new 6-week round of lockdown, people’s angst of what tomorrow might hold continues to grow. However, God has given us His Word to guide us through troubled times.

The Bible talks a lot about trusting God in difficult times; it is full of illustrations of people going through trials and coming out triumphant and stronger on the other side. Our faith is tested most when we pass through these valleys in our lives. How do we respond to these times? Are we trusting in God or are we trusting in our own abilities?

I thought that it would be appropriate to share some of these verses that reassure us of hope and strength in God when we turn ourselves over to Him and trust Him completely:

Philippians 4:19

And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 50:15

Call on me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honour me.

Psalm 55:22

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

John 16:33

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

Joshua 1:9

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.

Matthew 6:28-33

And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

I trust that some of these verses are a reassurance to you and would like to encourage you to remember that the creator of the entire universe knows you by name and that, even though things may seem dark at the moment, He is in control and will carry us through.

Blessings
