OSHClub
What we’ve been up to at OSHC!
Over the past week we have been exploring our term goal, to learn more about Australian landscapes. Engaged in conversations about native wildlife, the students decided that they’d like to learn more about Wallabies. In doing so, the children helped to create a range of wondering questions including:
Where do Wallabies live?- Ollie, Grade 2
How to Wallabies care for their babies?- Siena, Grade 4
What is the difference between a Wallaby and a Kangaroo?- Iris, Grade 1
We have been exploring these wondering questions through a range of engaging and exciting experiences! Check out the fun we’ve had below!
On Monday and Tuesday, Iris learnt all about Wallabies and Kangaroos! She absolutely loved our nature walk outside and found lots of interesting items she used to create a wonderful Wallaby picture! As an extra special treat, Iris loved her hot chocolate from the staffroom. But Shh! It’s a secret!!
On Wednesday we started our newest investigation for project club, knitting Wallaby pouches! This is our ongoing project for the next few weeks and we can’t wait to have them all finished!
On Thursday and Friday, Maddie and Ollie explored their sensory capacities as they engaged in our small world play area for Australian landscapes. It was also fantastic to see the pair working together as a team to complete a number of associated puzzles! Great work Maddie and Ollie!

Do you have any recycled materials we could use at OSHClub?
As part of our initiative to embed more sustainable practices within our program, we would love it if you could bring any recyclable materials that the children could repurpose into some awesome craft inventions! Things like toilet rolls, jars, boxes or even newspaper would be fantastic!
