Student Work
Poem for Lockdown
by Bronte Gadon
My bubble was my room it was cozy and fun
I bought a mirror so i could see who was number one
Because of lockdown sometimes I overslept
I missed my friends and it was alone that I wept
Zoom was cool i liked using the greenscreen
but at school I learn better that’s what I have seen
I am better prepared to learn independently
it takes a lot motivation and it has to come from me
college will be similar with no one telling me what to do
every choice you must choose it’s all up to you
Returning back to school I feel a little unsure
about what is to happen and what I will endure
I hope this doesn’t affect my exams or my grades
and my artwork for art is lacking some shades
To deal with changes I don’t really have a plan
I’m just trying to catch up with schoolwork as fast as I can
but as things swing back into it I think I will find
it will be pretty easy to get back to the grind
Shout out to mum and shout out to dad
shout out to Kimmy the best aunt I ever had
thank you for feeding me and helping with school
and not being too strict making unreasonable rules
thanks to my friends who let me give them a rant
I really appreciate it and know I don’t take you for grant-ed.
