Principal's Report

Principal - Brea Terris

Assistant Principal -Anthea Mathers

Dear Families,

What a wonderful week it has been! We have welcomed back our P-2 students. They arrived on Tuesday with huge smiles on their faces. All of our staff were outside to meet students and parents. We had some fun activities planned to support the students transition back into the classroom. The treasure hunts were a huge success!

We have seen lots of new measures put in place at ETRS to ensure everyones' safety. I would like to thank families for supporting these new processes. It has been very successful using different gates for pick up and drop off in house colours.

Our P-2 students will be able to show our 3-6 students how the new pick up and drop offs work on their return.

Last Sunday Dan Andrews announced that playgrounds could open from Tuesday 26th May, this meant we could change our plans and have the playground open for the P-2 students. The playground is cleaned as part of our enhanced cleaning program. The updated cleaning schedule  will continue until the end of Term 3.

The students have been doing an amazing job in practising good hygiene. Each of the classrooms have access to sanitiser and hand soap which is being used regularly through out the day.

Just a reminder to families that classrooms will be open for students from 8.30am and the first bell goes at 8.45am. This allows time for students to wash their hands, before learning begins at 9am.

We

New Families

We'd like to warmly welcome 5 new students and their families to our school this term. We'd like to introduce Braxton in Prep, Ace, Sky and Aroha in Grade 2 and Blake in Grade 5. Welcome to Echuca Twin Rivers.

Illness

As we have transitioned back to Face to Face teaching this week, we have had a number of students in P-2 become unwell at school. The students have presented with either cold like symptoms or gastro symptoms. If your child becomes unwell at school they will be sent home immediately.

If they present with gastro symptoms please support us in not spreading it to other students by keeping children home 48 hours after the last time they vomited or had diarrhoea.

We thank you in advance for keeping students who are unwell at home.

National Simultaneous Story Time 2020

Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator, is read simultaneously in libraries, schools, pre-schools, childcare centres, family homes, bookshops and many other places around the country. This is the 20th year of National Simultaneous Story Time. ETRS students celebrated the day by reading Whitney and Britney the Chicken Divas. A special guest read the book to the students. We hope you enjoyed this story.

National Reconciliation Week

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Reconciliation must live in the hearts, minds and actions of all Australians as we move forward, creating a nation strengthened by respectful relationships between the wider Australian community, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Please take the time to watch our video on Facebook, Class Dojo and Google Classrooms

about what Reconciliation means to some some of our students, parents and staff.

School Wide Positive Behaviour

Next week's value is: Responsibility

Next week's behaviour focus is: I will use school equipment correctly.

Be sure to access the video modelling the correct behaviours on Facebook, our website and on Class Dojo.

Foundation 2021 Enrolments

All enrolment documents are available to download from our website. You may also contact the school and we can send the information to you via email or the post.

If you know of any families who are interested in enrolling, please ask them to contact the school. Thank you to our families who are getting the good word out in the community about our school, word of mouth is the most powerful form of advertising and we are fielding an increased number of inquiries about our school.

Have a lovely weekend, stay safe and we look forward to transitioning back to learning at school.

Kind regards,

Brea
