Doctors in Schools Program

Melton Secondary College is pleased to inform our college community that the Victorian Government Doctors in Schools initiative is running again this year. An adolescent health trained GP will be available at our school each Thursday to provide medical advice and health care to our students. The GP will be supported by a registered nurse and the school Wellbeing Counsellor, Tara Coates. Melton Secondary College students and their parents/guardians/carers will not incur any out-of-pocket expenses for consultations with the GP. Appointments will be made through the Student Wellbeing Team. Please phone 9743 3322 or email gobookings@meltonsc.vic.edu.au

The objectives of the program are to:

  • make primary health care more accessible to students
  • provide assistance to young people to identify and address any health problems early
  • aim to reduce the pressure on working parents and community-based GPs.

If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to contact the Student Wellbeing Team.
