Melton Secondary College Students are set to dominate the ABC "Takeover Melbourne" program

MSC student, Veronica from Year 12 is among 12 MSC students participating in the ABC "Takeover Melbourne" program.

The ABC Takeover initiative was designed by the ABC in partnership with the City of Melbourne, VicHealth, and Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY), and the Victorian Government as a powerful platform for young Melbournians to be heard across the State of Victoria.

Schools from 31 local council areas were invited to participate. Simone Tunbridge, Education Producer and former ABC Media colleagues, Alexandra Neil and Imogen Archer facilitated a Takeover Workshop session with our students and Ms Menon on 2 June.

The Program benefits young people with their leadership skills and connection to mentors with a view to future career opportunities in Journalism or the Media Industry.

ABC Media is currently working closely with the College community to support our students enter into the competition for an opportunity to share their personal story about their life and submit these to Takeover Melbourne.

Entries for the ABC Takeover Melbourne are now open. Competition winners will work closely with ABC producers to have their stories featured on ABC TV, radio, or online. Entries close on 27 June 2020.
