Teaching and Learning

End of Term 2
What an amazingly challenging term that turned out to be! As we draw near the end of Term 2 it is pertinent to reflect on all that has been achieved by families supporting their children learning from home, our staff in adapting to flexible and remote learning and our wonderful students in the most challenging term I have experienced in my teaching career. Our teachers and students have enjoyed being back onsite for the conclusion of the term and are working hard on finalising their learning on their current content areas before we launch into Term 3.
It’s time for Science!
Next term we move into a Science focus in our Integrated units across the school from Prep to Year 10. Lower Primary students will be exploring properties of material through their unit ‘What’s it made of?’, Upper Primary are investigating Forces, Secondary 7/8 will be having some fun with Heating and Melting while Secondary 9/10 will be exploring Electricity and Changing Matter.
Leisure in PreCAL
Our Secondary 7/8 and 9/10 PreCAL classes will be investigating Leisure in Semester 2 as their focus for Community Experience sessions. They will begin by looking into different leisure options that we can expose them to at school before we are able to engage in excursions beyond school grounds.
VCAL
Next term will be exciting for our VCAL students as we hope that their work related skills and VET programs will continue to return to normal operations however they will have the added excitement of being part of the opening of our Café in the new building. Plans are underway with details to come later on.
Celebrating our student’s writing
Last edition I mentioned that our students were creating some amazing pieces of writing. Below are a some examples for you to enjoy.
