Year 7 Leader Report
On November 14th Year 7s will begin their Semester 2 Exams. The time leading up to the exams is when students should be revising the content that they were taught during the semester. Subject teachers will have organised revisions for students.
Revision is looking back at information that you have previously learnt. You need to understand the information, know the information and remember it for your exams.
The purpose of revision is to make a series of key points relating to a subject. You need key points or words that will prompt you to remember the information stored in your brain. You could have these key points on flashcards or A4 sheets of paper with key points for each topic or sub-topic.
You should have an aim for each session. E.g. by the end of this session, I want to be able to answer questions on….
Try the following tips:
- Think about what you already know and identify the areas that you need to spend more time on.
- Break topics down into chunks.
- Make notes with key points, phrases or words.
- Revise using flashcards:

Year 8 Leader Report
Year 8 is wrapping up their year and getting towards the exam period. They have had a productive term both academically and in the sporting field.
We had some boys representing the college in regional volleyball, as well as 4 girls in regional table tennis. Well done to these students for showing high expectations towards their sports.
It is also really pleasing to see a number of students receiving HRRRT certificates for both silver and bronze. We have a total of 18 students receiving 25 HRRRT points or more who all received a Silver Certificate. We also have a total of 94 students in year 8 who have received a bronze certificate for 10 or more HRRRT points.
Well done to all year 8s for their effort. They start their exams on Friday and will then begin the year 9 coursework a week later. Good luck to all students in their exams.
