NEWS & ADMINISTRATION

Mrs Caroline Galea

Dear Parents,

It was brought to my attention that there are only 4 weeks left until the end of this term.

So little time and so much yet to do.

Thank You

Firstly, I would like to thank the many generous families who have contributed items to our Christmas Hampers.  Without your generosity, fundraisers like this could simply not go ahead.  This week your children should have come home with a booklet of 10 raffle tickets (please look in their school bags). Tickets are $1.00 each.   Please return all tickets & money by Tuesday 6 December.  This raffle will be drawn at the Christmas Carols.

Election Day

On Saturday 26th November, Holy Name's Hall (Jubilee Hall) will once again be a polling site.  Come along and support our sausage sizzle and vote at the same time.

Family Lunch

Unfortunately, this year we were unable to hold our Grandparents Day, therefore we will instead be having a family lunch.  On Friday December 2nd, families are invited to spend lunch with their children.  You are welcome to either order extra lunch for yourself and others from the canteen or alternatively bring a special lunch for you and your child. Weather permitting, from 11.30am to 12.30pm, all children will have lunch outside on the school grounds.  Children whose family members are unable to attend will have lunch with their class/classroom teacher.  All family members are welcome to attend.

Children Not Returning in 2023

This week, a form via Operoo was sent to all families asking them to indicate what they will be doing in 2023.  Please take a few minutes to fill in this form.

Covid

There have been a number of warnings of late about the expected rise of Covid in Victoria throughout November.  If you or your child show any cold like symptoms, please test for covid.   If you need a box of tests, please ask at the school office.

School Fees

Please see below, our fees for 2023.

Within the next week, we will email detailed 2023 Fees documentation to you. Please take the time to read it.  If you don't receive it, please check your spam.

Sacraments for 2023

We now have the Sacramental dates for 2023.  Please put these in your diary.

Reconciliation---March 1st    7pm        (Year 4 children)

Confirmation---- April 30th     10 am     (Year 6 children )

Eucharist   --------June 18th     10am      (Year 4 children)

Earlier this term, we were toying with the idea of having both the Year 5 and 6 children receive confirmation together.  However, due to the numbers and how crowded this would have been, it has been decided that only the Year 6 children, along with the Catechist children, will be making their Confirmation in 2023.

Dates for Next Year

We are in the midst of planning for 2023 as we wrap up 2022.  At this point, many dates are still to be confirmed.  As our dates are confirmed, I will continue to put them in the newsletter.

Work Experience Students

This week we have had two ex students from Parade College completing a week of work experience. Their names are Nikolas and Benjamin and they have been actively involved in all aspects of school life. Special thanks goes to them for their ability to relate and engage with both staff and children and we wish you well in all your future endeavours. It is so great to see our ex students grow up, develop and mature into responsible citizens.
