SENIOR SCHOOL NEWS

Well, VCAA exams are in the home stretch now – finishing on the 11th November with Studio Art. Best of luck with results which come out on 12th December. There have been no major ‘hiccups’ and once again, I am proud of how each student sitting these exams has conducted themselves.

I would like to congratulate all our VCE & VCAL students on the completion of their outcomes and various projects – both practical and theory based, and also extend my congratulations to their VCAL & VCE teachers & mentors who have worked so closely with these students to help them fulfill their goals. Well done!

I would also like to thank our Chief Examiner Gary McGrath (past Mathematics Teacher and Senior School coordinator), and supervisors Rosemary Knox (past parent of KSC students) and Anne Hendry (past Careers, Humanities and English teacher). These individuals help maintain the smooth running of the exam centre, keep students feeling calm and organised and are friendly faces each day during this period of exams.

Staff and Year 12 students are now looking forward to celebrating  at Valedictory evening; Friday 18th November at Djinta Djinta Winery. Parents, guardians and significant others are welcome to join after dinner to hear the speeches and attend the formalities of the evening.

YEAR 10-11 EXAMS

And as a whole school we are well and truly in exam mode! This year the Year 10 & 11 exam period is from MONDAY 14TH NOVEMBER until FRIDAY 18TH NOVEMBER. The 18th is also a day for students to catch up on missed exams with supervision, completing CATs, or other pieces of assessment. All staff will be present on this day.

The Senior school exam schedule will be posted in the Senior Office and each Year 10 & 11 student will have their individual exams added to their Compass schedules by the end of the week.

Any students who have ‘clashes’ with their exam timetable have already been identified, but if you are unable to attend an exam next week – for any reason – please contact Ms Neill in the Senior school ASAP, so we can re-schedule for you.

HEADSTART 2022– is the program we run at KSC to get all our students ‘2023 ready!’ In the Senior School this will mean all our students experiencing their VCE subjects or the new VCE VM classes often for the first time. It is a chance to meet your teachers and classmates, prepare for the first Outcomes / CATs you will need to complete, and understand what is required of you over the summer break. Your attendance is required each day of this program. It runs from November 21st until December 2nd for Senior School.

WORK EXPERIENCE – Mr Scott, Mr Boulter, Ms Deal & Ms Sorrell have been busily working with Year 10 students to ensure that their required paperwork is in place and workplace safety courses completed online. This will run from Monday 5th to Friday 9h December. Please contact the Senior School Office with any work experience queries. Good luck to all these students who are taking up these important opportunities.
