Mrs Farren and I were walking to the rockpit in the playground. We found some huge rocks and one of them had fossilised plants inside of them! We showed everyone and they thought it was amazing. We also found a volcanic rock.

NEW - Prime Minister Communication

Year 6 student, Ruby Dalton, recently wrote a letter to Prime Minister Albanese regarding the treatment of asylum seekers in Australia and the current policies around refugee status. This was in response to our current teaching and learning around refugees, parliament and law changing.

PM Albanese responded to Ruby with an encouraging letter to keep being a voice for Australia.

Mosquito Information

Mosquitoes can breed in only a tiny amount of stagnant water, meaning their numbers are likely to keep increasing in these weather conditions.

We can reduce the chance of mosquito bites by taking a few simple precautions. One of the most important steps is to empty containers, tanks or gutters around the home that can provide mosquito breeding sites. By simply reducing the number of mosquitoes reproducing around the home and school, you/we can reduce the chances of being bitten.

Other tips to avoid bites include:

- Wearing long, loose-fitting clothing

- Using repellents that contain picaridin or DEET on exposed skin

- Keeping mozzies away with mosquito nets or screens

- Using ‘knockdown’ fly spray, mosquito coils or plug-in repellent, and

- Limiting outdoors activity when mosquito numbers are high.

Children are vulnerable to mosquito bites so it’s important to protect them using the steps outlined above, but remember to use a lower-strength repellent on young children and babies.

Sun Protection Policy

Students at Sacred Heart are expected to wear a hat during all outdoor activities from the of 1st September to 30th April in accordance with the school's Sun Protection Policy. Parents, please support us by ensuring your child has their school hat in their bag.

Lunch Orders

Tatura Hot Bread Bakery will be providing the School lunch orders for two days a week. Lunch orders will be available Thursdays and Fridays. Please find below the 2022 price list.

A reminder orders are to be done through the School, not to be dropped off at the Bakery.

Second Hand Uniform Sales

Sacred Heart will now only be accepting second hand uniform items as a donation to the school. If families wish to sell items we request that this is done privately. Please see below the current uniform stock available for purchase. If you wish to have a browse of the uniforms or make a purchase, please see Sally in the school office on Tuesday or Wednesday.
