Halloween Demonstration

Year 8 Geology

The process of making fossils requires 4 stages -

 

1st Death and decay 

2nd Rapid burial 

3rd Permineralization and 

4th Erosion and exposure 

In this Year 8 experiment we placed layers of jelly embedded with lollies. The jelly represented rock layers and the lollies represented fossils. The deeper the layer, the older the rock.
