State Athletics Championships

On Wednesday 2nd November we had 3 students from BNPS representing us at the State Athletics Championships in three different age groups. An amazing feat to get this far and we certainly have some talent in Long Jump this year.

Congratulations to Xavier H in Year 6 who was in the 12/13yr old Long Jump event and he managed to jump a HUGE 4.47m placing 8ht overall out of a field of 16. Not a bad effort for someone who doesn’t do little athletics and only jumps for FUN. Fantastic effort Xav!

Congratulations to Micah H in Year 5 who was in the 11 yr old Long Jump event. Her longest jump was an amazing 4.06m helping her to finish mid field in her age group. Great effort Micah.

Congratulations to Xavier W who was in the 10 yr old Multi Class Division- (Hearing impaired) who competed and finished in first place in all of his events- Long Jump, 100m and 200m events. A great effort Xavier!!

The nicest part for all 3 students is that they all get to purchase a State Championship Hoodie that they can wear until it disintegrates😊

Fantastic result everyone.

Girls Softball

What a ride to get to this point! The Girls Softball team waited patiently for an entire term to find out if we made it through to the division level. We found out on the last day of term 3 and then with a shock twist, the date had fallen onto the same days as the Year 5 camp. Leaving us with only a small window to find a solution, we had to get students in Year 6 to fill in for our Year 5 girls. After another shock of events, the day had been postponed last minute, due to the weather. This meant that the Year 5 girls could attend.

With the weather holding off, barely, the BNPS girls smashed the ball out of the fields for 2 out of their 3 games, taking us through to the next stage.

Thank you once again to the parents/carers that helped transport the girls to and from the event! Good luck next week, as we take on our hardest opponents yet!

Please enjoy a recount from one of the team members.

We were all excited to get the game started but we had to meet at school first. We all drove to the baseball club and practise throwing and batting. Our first game was at 10, we had to do rock-paper-scissors for the choice of fielding or batting first, we chose Eliza, as Captain for the first game against Ola, we were fielding. Eliza was pitching first and was great we won the first game with the score of 20 to 10. The second game was straight after, I (Mia) was Captain. I won the Rock-Paper-Scissors, so we were fielding again. That game was the best, we had some great home runs, but the weather wasn't great at all. We were up to the last inning, but the rain was torrential, we kept playing and won with the score 12 to 8. The next game was against Parktone, after a long break and once the sun came out. It was a hard game, but we were determined. In the end we lost 25 to 12.

All in all, we won 2 out of 3 games and we are into regionals.
