Prayers

We pray for all those in our community who are unwell or suffering at this time.

Tuesday 1 November is All Saints Day, the day commemorating every saint, known and unknown, as per the Catholic tradition. Although many of the known saints have their own feast day during the year, on November 1 the Catholic Church remembers them all through the Solemnity of All Saints.

Bless the many parted souls
who lived their lives with grace.
Bless the saints in heaven,
gathered in that special place.

May we tell their stories
and remember all the ways
they lived their faith
and spent their days.

There is glory and reward,
even if at first there’s strife.
Oh, blessed saints, you help us see
a path that’s to eternal life.

May we always hold them dear
and know their life and place.
May we know their inspiration
and aspire to their grace.
Amen

Prayer from Loyola Press

May our loving God, with Mary and Champagnat, walk with all members of the Marist family. Amen

St Vincent de Paul MCA Christmas Appeal

Each year on behalf of St Vincent De Paul and Downs and West Community Support (Sisters of Charity), through Pastoral Groups and Primary classes we, the College Community collect donations for a Christmas Appeal.

Prior to COVID this meant collecting foodstuffs but at the moment it involves providing Gift Vouchers. Last year we managed more than $12,000.00 in gift cards which sees the organisations being able to provide something great for families who need support at Christmas time.

We are proud of our commitment to this appeal each year and encourage families to support this very worthy cause.

Marist Student Leader Summit

Last weekend our College Captains were able to gather and meet the other School Captains from 13 other Marist schools in Queensland and Northern New South Wales at the 2023 Marist Student Leaders Summit. The Summit aims to enliven students as leaders, empowering them to build up the Marist project in a local context. It provides an opportunity to explore leadership in the Marist way using the five characteristics of Marist life – Family Spirit; Love of Work; Presence; Simplicity and in the Way of Mary. It was wonderful to see some young Marist College Ashgrove Old Boys from 2018, 2020 and 2021 work as volunteers throughout the weekend.

Tuesday Morning Reconciliation

Students, parents, staff and other members of the College community are welcome to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Fr Tini is available every Tuesday morning in the College Chapel.
