Romeo & Juliet

Romeo and Juliet Excursion

On Friday 31st August, students from Years 8 and 9 travelled to Melbourne to view Bell Shakespeare's performance of Romeo and Juliet.

The Year 9 students have been studying the play in English and enjoyed getting to see a stage version. The Year 8 students enjoyed looking at the stage design and the ability of the actors to use different techniques and skills to engage their audience. A lot of our students have never seen a live stage performance and were grateful for the opportunity, this was clear in their focus and the behaviour for the entire trip.

As part of the excursion, students were given an additional challenge, whereby they had to take pictures around southbank that related to the quotes that they were given from the play.

I am excited to announce that the group with the best images/snaps was a mix of Year 8 and 9 students. Caitlin, Joy, Ruby and Maureen from the 'Nurse' group, won the challenge with Ayesha, Jasmine and Rahma from the 'Friar Lawrence' group coming a very close second.

We are very proud of all students who attended and all in all it was a wonderful excursion. The students were able to wear out of uniform and contributed to the Jarrod Lyle fundraiser.
