PARENT TEACHER INTERVIEWS

Parent Teacher interviews will be taking place at the end of term and it is important that all parents book appointments to get an understanding of how your child’s education is progressing. Interviews can be booked through the parent portal of Xuno https://portal.shs.vic.edu.au and will be conducted in the Personal learning Centre, Science Centre and the Senior Study Centre.  Times for the interview sessions are:

Thursday 20th September 4pm -7pm

Friday 21st September 10am – 1pm

COMMON ASSESSMENT TASKS -

What are these?  A reminder that all students have been completing Common Assessment Tasks (CATS) in each of their classes.

Teachers have been consistently working together to plan, create, differentiate and moderate these tasks with an aim to not only improve student learning but to increase feedback to students on their learning. Please engage in conversation with your child about these tasks and log into the Xuno Parent Portal to read feedback from your child’s teachers.

NAPLAN

In May this year, national literacy and numeracy tests were administered to student’s in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9.  Students were assessed in reading, writing, spelling, grammar & punctuation, and numeracy.

NAPLAN reports have been posted home to all families of our current Year 7s and Year 9s. This report shows parents how their child is performing against all other children in the country as well as against National Minimum Standards.

Through the NAPLAN testing parents should get a sense of a student’s progress over time, however caution should be exercised in interpreting the results as they refer to an assessment at a particular point in time and may not reflect the full range of your child’s ability.

If you do not receive your NAPLAN report or have some queries or concerns please contact Amy Gallacher Acting Assistant Principal.
