ACC Swimming Championship

The ACC Swimming team got off to a flying start last Friday night winning the first three Medley relays in convincing fashion, this gave the team great confidence and the excellent performances continued. After the first eleven events the St Bede’s team had stretched out to a twenty point lead over the other College’s. Unfortunately, we were unable to maintain this lead throughout the individual events and by the time the final races of the night came around we were just behind

De La Salle and Whitefriars College’s. The team dug deep for the final relays and the hard work that had been put in over the previous months almost paid off, with four of the six relay’s finishing in the top two places. Even a fantastic swim by our Senior team in their last race for the College was not quite enough to claim the overall championship, finishing a close third only 17.5 points behind De La Salle College.

Every member of the team represented the College with great pride and they all should be commended for their performances.

Special thanks must go to Mr Kelleher, Miss Worland, Mr Windhager and Mr Naughton for their assistance in preparing the team for the carnival.

House Swimming

The always hectic start to the school year again featured the House Swimming championships. With our new Year 7’s starting things off they competed with great enthusiasm and there were some extremely close races. Ashton Roberts 7.4, was crowned year level champion for 2019. A week later the rest of the school made the short walk to the pool and competed admirably for their houses. Again, there was great participation from the students and some very close races in the championship events. Well done to every student who was involved in these events and to Solomon House who are the Swimming champions for 2019.
