Outdoor Learning space & Cultural Garden
What’s our plan behind the hall?
Working towards our vision of becoming a Lighthouse School for Language, a part of this initiative is the need to create a functional outdoor cultural space. Behind the Hall presents itself as the perfect area for this purpose.
Working with all of the students, teachers and Team Kids, they have shared with the Sustainability & Grounds Subcommittee, their creative ideas and thoughts on how the space could be used. Introducing the concept of creating an “Outdoor Learning Space & Cultural Garden” that will enable everybody to enjoy and enable students, teachers and the broader community to learn and connect with language, environment and each other.
The Sustainability & Grounds Subcommittee have been busy collating all of the feedback and ideas from each class, to draft a Design Brief. The Design Brief describes what we would like to do behind the Hall based on all of the feedback we have received. This Design Brief is now complete and we are now in the process of sharing this brief with Landscape Architects to turn our ideas into plans & costings!
We have been working with the School Council & the Future Directions subcommittee on establishing funding through grants as well as with a contribution from Team Kids.
Watch this space for news and updates as we progress. In the meantime, below is a snippet of some of the conceptual ideas from the Brief.
